Side mounting float controls mount horizontally to any tank or vessel through a threaded or flanged pipe connection. Single or dual switch models may be used for high and/or low level alarm or control applications.
As a counter weighted float follows liquid level change, it moves a magnetic sleeve into or out of the field of a switch-actuating magnet causing switch operation. A non-magnetic barrier tube effectively isolates the switch mechanism from the controlled liquid.

T21 tandem models combine the functions of two separate narrow differential level controls in a single, compact, easy to install instrument. Two independent switch mechanisms are employed to provide two actuating levels at least 8" apart, such as high and low level alarm operation.

Model T21 tandem float switches are available with optional cages to help stabilize the floats under turbulent conditions.
The buoyancy force of a process liquid on the float causes the float to move with the liquid surface. The movement of the float moves an attraction sleeve into the field of the switch magnet, pulling the magnet toward the sleeve and actuating the switch.

Model 910 switches utilize ultrasonic energy to detect the presence or absence of liquid in a single point, tip-sensitive transducer. Ultrasonic contact level technology uses high frequency sound waves that are easily transmitted across a transducer gap in the presence of a liquid media, but are attenuated when the gap is dry.

Model 910 switches use an ultrasonic frequency of 3 MHz to perform this liquid level measurement in a wide variety of process media and application conditions.

The transducer uses a pair of piezoelectric crystals that are encapsulated in epoxy at the tip of the transducer. The crystals are made of a ceramic material that vibrates at a given frequency when subjected to an applied voltage. The transmit crystal converts the applied voltage from the electronics into an ultrasonic signal. When liquid is present in the gap, the receive crystal senses the ultrasonic signal from the transmit crystal and converts it back to an electrical signal. This signal is sent to the electronics to indicate the presence of liquid in the transducer gap. When there is no liquid present, the ultrasonic signal is attenuated and is not detected by the receive crystal. video

Kotron RF Capacitance Level Switches offer the industrial user a choice of alarm and control configurations. Both integral and remote electronics are available.

The amount of capacitance developed in any vessel is determined by the size (surface area) of the probe, the distance from the probe to its ground, and the dielectric of the medium being measured. Considering that the probe?s mounting position is fixed, and that the dielectric value of the medium is constant, then the amount of capacitance developed in any vessel becomes dependent upon the amount of the probe which is covered by the media.

As media rises and falls in the tank, the amount of capacitance developed between the sensing probe and the ground also rises and falls. This change in capacitance is measured in the electronics. When the capacitance measurement is the same as the setpoint, an alarm occurs.

Radar has been part of the level measurement market for more than thirty years. The early designs used in tank gauging were heavy, expensive, power-hungry and complex. Advancements in radar circuitry have evolved the modern radar transmitter so that now it is light, inexpensive, loop-powered and easy to use. The R82 is the logical extension of that evolution.

Microwave-based radar is a superior measurement technology with its ability to operate effectively in a wide range of process conditions. It has been too expensive to use as a replacement for ultrasonic transmitters in simple, daily applications....until now. The R82 radar transmitter can be considered the answer to almost every, daily level measurement application imaginable.

Aurora? is the next generation of Magnetic Level Indicators. Its patented design is state of the art in this technology and reflects Magnetrol's subsidiary Orion Instrument?s innovation and commitment to magnetically coupled level indicators.

Aurora is a totally redundant system of continuous level monitoring and control. An Eclipse? guided wave radar coaxial probe is housed along with the MLI float in a 3" or 4" diameter chamber. While the indicator relies upon the float and its internal magnets to activate the flags or shuttle, the Eclipse measures the liquid level directly. Two completely separate technologies in a single external chamber ensure redundancy unlike any other MLI. The use of a baffle plate within the chamber ensures that the float and eclipse coaxial probe work seamlessly within the single chamber.

There are six basic configuration styles and over fifteen material selections for Aurora. For the first time ever, the ability to accurately and reliably measure ultra low dielectric media, high pressure/high temperature process conditions, and media with shifting and changing
dielectric values can be accomplished with Aurora.

The Atlas? is Magnetrol?s subsidiary Orion Instrument?s standard, high performance magnetic level indicator. Atlas is a single chamber design with either 2", 2.5", or 3" chamber diameter, as required by the application. There are twelve basic configuration styles including top mount models. Special configurations are also available.

Atlas magnetic level indicators are produced in a wide range of materials of construction, including plastics. Orion also offers one of the most complete selections of process connection types and sizes in the industry.

Atlas may be equipped with a variety of level transmitters and switches as well as flag and shuttle indicators with or without stainless steel scales. This enables the Atlas to be a complete level and monitoring control.
